Local Private Preschool is now hiring a full time teacher, part time entry level assistant, and a cook to work at our schools. We operate seven preschool and learning center locations in Portland, Happy Valley, and Tualatin. We have full time and part time positions available. The ideal candidates will have had at least one year of experience working in a certified child care center and/or a degree in early childhood education (or related coursework). The teacher in these positions will have the opportunity to work with children ages 3 months - 6 years, and must be comfortable diapering, feeding, and entertaining the children as well as lesson planning and following a curriculum. Aides will work with all ages at our center, from 3 months to 6 years. The experienced teachers will be responsible for planning and implementing age appropriate activities that compliment our curriculum, and for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy teaching environment. Cooks are responsible for preparing meals in accordance with our menu and schedule, and substituting allergens when necessary. Cooks may also spend some time in the classroom, so being comfortable around children is essential in this role. All teachers, assistants, and cooks must be enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry and take the mandatory reporter training and the health and safety training prior to start date. Further, all employees must provide proof of a Food Handler's card and First/Aid CPR card within 30 days of starting.
